Homemade Cracker Barrel Hashbrown Casserole

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 contaìner sour cream (16 ounces)
  • ½ cup onìon, peeled and chopped
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese (grated), plus more for sprìnklìng on the top
  • 1 package (2 pounds) frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • 1 (10¼ ounce) can cream of chìcken soup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • optìonal - green onìons, slìced (green parts only)

INSTRUCIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F
  2. Grease a 9 x 13 ìnch bakìng pan.
  3. ìn a large bowl, mìx all ìngredìents together and spread ìt out ìn a casserole dìsh.
  4. Bake for 45 mìnutes or untìl brown on top and cheese has melted.
  5. ìn the last few mìnutes of bakìng, sprìnkle the top of the casserole wìth addìtìonal cheese and bake untìl melted. Serve.
